The Situation

Rice Cohen International was retained by a Global Fortune 500 company in the Consumer Goods Industry to fill a Global Chief Learning Officer role. The client was growing exponentially and recognized that in order to maintain that growth they needed to invest in their people. They decided to centralize learning for their 35,000 global employees, implement their first LMS, and create a corporate university and they needed an experienced executive to lead the initiative.

Solution Implemented

Our research team compiled a Search Assignment Profile based on the client’s needs and put together a list of companies to target. From there we identified the top learning and development executives at each of the target companies, specifically looking for people with extensive global experience. Then the executive consultant leading the search reached out to every individual on that list. A comprehensive behavior based interview was conducted with all qualified candidates and from there we presented the 5 most qualified candidates to the client.

The Search Results

After the hiring manager did initial interviews, two finalists were selected to meet with the executive team for a final round of interviews. After the final interviews were completed and a decision was made to extend an offer, RCI negotiated the offer for the candidate of choice. They candidate they chose has over 15 years of experience creating and running learning and training organizations, and spent the past 6 years as the Global Head of L&D for a well-known Financial Services organization.
