Executive Search Recruiting Challenge: Talent Assessment Principal Consultant

Rice Cohen International partnered with a European-based consulting firm that was looking to expand their business into North America with a Talent Assessment Principal Consultant. They brought us in to help them find this key executive who could help grow the business as an individual contributor and eventually build a local sales team. The ideal candidate would be seen as a credible advisor to senior executives and have the ability to drive sales pursuits. Knowing our extensive experience in helping to build award winning sales teams, and our over 25 years of experience working in the space, our client was confident in their decision to partner with us.
We collaborated with our client to understand more about their firm and what qualifications the ideal candidate would have. In order to attract the right candidate our team put together a Search Assignment Profile, composed a targeted list of companies and direct competitors, specifically looking for individuals known to be innovative. With the initial research complete our executive consultants were ready to go out and proactively recruit each of these qualified candidates. After completing our process we presented a short list of 5 candidates to our client.
The Search Results
Following an initial round of interviews four finalists were selected to meet with the executive team for final interviews and assessments. Out of these finalists two met with the COO and one truly stood out. The client liked how learning agile he was, his ‘systems’ thinking style and creative problem-solving skills. The client was very excited about the new Talent Assessment Principal Consultant and believes he has the opportunity to grow into an even larger role in the future.
